Spokane Favorites
Here’s a list I’ve compiled of our “Local Favorites”. Places my husband and I love, my kids can’t get enough of, and activities to keep us busy in those cold winter months.
Local Eats We Love
Chicken N More YUM. Everything in this place is made with love. Made to order so expect to wait a few minutes but it’s completely worth it. Soul food that really feeds your soul.
The Little Garden Cafe Great coffee, yummy food, and a kid’s section full of toys! Coffee date with friends where kids can play and moms can actually get two words in with each other.
Frank’s Diner Breakfast in an old railway car, what could be better?! Multiple locations.
Didiers Yogurt & More Located near Whitworth University, this one’s great for a quick frozen yogurt or lunch.
Durkins Liquor and Bar The burgers are nothing short of incredible. Love this one for a date night or girls night out.
Versalia Pizza Located in Kendall Yards (which you should check out anyways). The pizza is **chef’s kiss**.
291 Bar and Grill Just northwest of Spokane in beautiful Nine Mile Falls. Great food, awesome atmosphere, and opportunity for live music. Find them on Instagram for their latest events.

Nature with Kids
(This list might be a little longer, Spokane has endless outdoor activities to offer)
Bowl and Pitcher Great hiking with kids, incredible views of the Spokane River. Definitely a family favorite. Great spot for family photos!
Lake Spokane Campground Beautiful and well maintained campground and day-use area. A perfect spot to enjoy one of Spokane’s local lakes. Officially named Lake Spokane but the locals call it Long Lake.
The Centennial Trail Nearly 40 miles long (paved for pedestrians and cyclists), the Centennial Trail s tarts at Sontag Park in Nine Mile Falls and spans all the way to the WA/ID border.
Priest Lake, Idaho A little bit of a drive from Spokane but it’s definitely a favorite. The lake is massive, the trails are endless, the view is beautiful and there is so much to explore. Restaurants like The Moose Knuckle Burgers & Brews in Coolin, ID (along the east side of the lake) are a great place to enjoy dinner after a day spent hiking or on the water.
Coeur D’Alene Lake (Pronounced Core-Duh-Lane) Only 30 minutes from downtown Spokane and is another great spot to enjoy. The lake is a perfect summer spot or you can explore the downtown area for shopping and top-notch food.
Spokane ORV Park Have 4-wheeler, dirt bike, or truck that likes to get a little muddy? The Off Roading Vehicle park is for you!
Riverfront Park Smack in the middle of Downtown Spokane, this “park” is more than just a park. So many of Spokane’s annual events are held in Riverfront. Bloomsday, Hoopfest, and the Lilac Parade are just a few of the annual events we look forward to.
Kendall Yards Nigh Market I’ve never been disappointed by a Kendall Yards Night Market. Food trucks, farmers market, and fireworks?! There’s something for everyone!
Indoor Kids Activities
Any of the Local Libraries! Spokane has put in the work to create amazing spaces for families. Check out their website to look for story-time opportunities, kids classes, and ways to connect. https://www.spokanelibrary.org/
Mobius Discovery Center Awesome space for kids of all ages. I have an infant, toddler, and a big kid who all love this place. Kids get to create, use their imaginations, learn and explore. (The educator in me loves this place for my kids) **Pro-tip! Many of the libraries allow you to check-out free day passes to Mobius. https://mobiusdiscoverycenter.org/
Trampoline Parks There are several trampoline parks around Spokane, we’ve been to all of them and I have no complaints. Great for big kids who need to run around, jump, and get rid of some energy.
Spokane Gymnastics Did you know they have a kids free-play once a day in their indoor park? Low cost and a great, clean facility. https://spokanegymnastics.com/
Story and Craft at the Mac The Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture puts on a story-time geared towards children ages 3-7 every Saturday at 11am. The MAC has tons of opportunity for older kids and adults as well.
